Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 3 patients
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
- Floating: No floating between units
- On-call: Not required
- Block Scheduling: Approved but not required

Required Certifications and Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Required Licenses
- Valid Registered Nurse license for Texas
- NURSYS verification required
Dress Code
- Licensed nursing personnel must wear solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (scrub tops may have colored piping)
- Print tops are not allowed except in specific pediatric or women's services units
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required annually for travel staff
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start
Background and Verification Requirements
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification for nursing degree (international education requires diploma/transcripts)
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
- Work history verification required if reference exceptions are requested
Competency and Training Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Unit-specific skills checklist, updated annually
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS
- Epic training modules completion may be required depending on region
Additional Notes
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to nearby facilities
- Passport-style badge photo required prior to start
- Free parking available in unrestricted employee/visitor lots
