Registered Nurse (LTC/SNF)

Location: Garrison, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (12-hour shifts, 7am–7pm)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Overview

• No direct clinical involvement beyond charge nurse duties.
• Nurse acts as charge nurse, passes medications, and performs wound care.
• No IVs or titratable drips involved.
• No telemetry monitors or RN strip reading required.
• No attendance required for team conferences related to acute inpatient rehab.
• Physician available by phone on-call after hours.
• Interdisciplinary team includes PT as needed and a social worker designee; no rehab beds.
• Respiratory therapy not on-site 24/7.
• Oxygen therapy equipment includes concentrators and portable concentrators.
• Pharmacy is off-site with a medication dispensing system.
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (EOW).
• Holiday requirement: Every other major holiday.
• No call, standby, or floating requirements.
• Orientation: 2-3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation.
• Dress code: No specific scrub color; must be clean and presentable.

Patient Population

• Common diagnoses: Heart disease, diabetes, dementia.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) required.

Additional Information

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Day shift 1:10, Night shift 1:19.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Matrix.
• Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles.
• Candidates may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any related facilities.
• Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals.

This position is ideal for an RN with LTC experience seeking a 13-week contract in a small long-term care setting with stable patient ratios and no IV or telemetry responsibilities.
