Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Position

Location: Bradenton, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

• Facility includes a 383-bed acute care hospital with a 28-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) and an average census of 240 patients.
• Occupational Therapy department has 15 OTs (full-time, part-time, PRN).
• Day shift only; no night shift coverage.
• Patient caseload:

  • IRF: ~4 patients/day
  • Acute care: 8-12 patients/day
• Therapy resources include 2 therapy gyms and an Activities of Daily Living (ADL) apartment.
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Florida

Job Expectations & Skills

• Must be willing to work on the IRF unit.
• Weekend flexibility required; minimum 1 weekend shift per month, with expectation to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital staff.
• Critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills are mandatory.
• Preferred experience: hospital and IRF settings, stroke and neurological rehabilitation.

Typical Duties

• Patient evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning.
• Participation in team conferences and family training.
• Use of adaptive devices and equipment.
