Description
Nuclear Medicine Technician
Location: Clovis, California
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (3 shifts of 12 hours, Saturdays required)
Job Description
- Perform full spectrum of diagnostic imaging and analyze biological specimens.
- Assist with therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
- Use imaging devices to record radiopharmaceutical distribution within the body.
- Ensure patient safety protocols and compliance with federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
- Work closely with Nuclear Medicine Physicians.
- Must be fully trained and self-reliant in routine Nuclear Medicine techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Certification by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine (N).
- An Associate's degree in a related field.
Immunization and Health Requirements (Must be current or have approved exemptions)
- MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations or positive IGG titer; if negative, booster or declination accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Proof of 3 vaccinations, positive antibody titer, or declination accepted; if negative titer, booster or declination accepted.
- TB Test: Negative test within 30 days of start (skin test, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-spot); if positive, proof of positive history, chest x-ray within 5 years, and annual questionnaire required.
- Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination accepted.
- Tdap: Proof of vaccination within past 10 years or declination accepted.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required October through March unless exempted for medical or religious reasons.
- COVID-19 Vaccine and Booster: Optional but proof or exemptions must be submitted for approval.
- COVID Test: Required on start date for clinical staff.
- Health Statement: Signed and dated within 1 year of start confirming ability to work without restrictions; updated annually.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal Background Check: 7-year county and national check, SSN trace, employment verification (last 5 years), OFAC, and NSO within 30 days prior to start; updated every 3 years.
- OIG, EPLS, OFAC, National Sex Offender, and Medi-Cal Suspended/Ineligible Provider List manual searches within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
- Drug Screen: 9-panel (minus THC) within 30 days of start; rapid drug screen accepted; updated annually.
- Professional References: Minimum of 2, including at least 1 supervisory.
- Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within 1 year of start.
- Various policy acknowledgments, dispute resolution agreements, confidentiality agreements, and confirmation of assignment documents required prior to or at onboarding.
- Badge photo with neutral background and no facial jewelry required.
Additional Notes
- Driver’s License or State ID (passport accepted) required.
- Must submit a clear copy of all required documentation and complete all onboarding requirements as specified.
- The department is currently making some adjustments; the order is on hold but scheduled shifts and requirements remain as stated.
