6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Full Time
Job Summary
- Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients, including adults and pediatrics.
- Prepare patient skin for surgery following hospital standards and maintain aseptic techniques.
- Transport and position patients according to surgery type.
- Identify and care for biological specimens.
- Set up the Operating Room (OR) with tables, instruments, and supplies based on case type.
- Establish and maintain sterile field; pass instruments and sutures to the physician as directed.
- Use and update physician preference cards for case setup.
- Maintain a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment care.
- Adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions and OR sanitation policies.
- Monitor and control the surgical environment, including traffic control and dress codes.
- Follow facility policies on decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments.
- Adapt patient care to meet population-specific and developmental needs.
- Work effectively as a team member in patient care and cooperate in team planning and execution.
- Robotic surgery experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to proficiently scrub in at least three specialty areas (e.g., Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, Robotics) is highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Patient Population
- Adult and pediatric patients.
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Robotic surgery experience is highly preferred but not mandatory.
