Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
Shift Hours: 18:45 – 07:15
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
Seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide care across multiple patient populations including neonates and pediatrics in a community hospital setting. Work areas include Emergency Department, Critical Care ICU, and medical/surgical floors. Responsibilities involve airway management, medication administration, arterial blood gases (ABGs), ventilator and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) management, nebulizer treatments, pulmonary toileting, and use of bronchoscopes.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with neonate patients
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Experience with bronchoscopes
- Experience with BiPAP
Skills
- Pediatrics and community hospital respiratory care
- Pediatric Emergency Department experience

Work Requirements
- On-call shifts: 3 on-call shifts required every 6 weeks
- Floating: May be required to float to other units as needed
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Unit uses EPIC electronic health record system
- Scrubs: Not provided; black scrubs required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements
Candidates must provide and maintain the following:
- Background check within 6 months (clinical candidates)
- Drug screening within 6 months (9-panel acceptable)
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola) titer or vaccination
- Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B per facility standards
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Education verification and transcripts as applicable
- Professional license verification
- Required facility-specific documents such as confidentiality agreement, medication safety training, and annual compliance training
- Photo for badge (passport style, white background, business attire) required immediately after signing contract
- Completion of online orientation and competency exams as required

This travel Respiratory Therapist role offers a 13-week contract with night shifts in a community hospital setting focused on neonatal and pediatric care. Candidates must hold an active RRT license in North Carolina, have at least 2 years of experience, and be certified in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS.
