MRI Technician - Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Job Details
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday through Friday
- Call: Based on department needs; currently call rotation every 3rd weekend 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM and holidays as needed
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Work Locations: Primary site with floating to other sites within 40 miles as needed
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
- Prior travel experience
- Experience with Siemens MRI equipment
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Job Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures within scope of practice
- Float onsite within skill set and to other nearby sites as needed (sites up to 40 miles away)
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Submission of current professional license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
- Submission of professional resume/profile and at least two professional references prior to assignment
- Completion of required onboarding documents and agreements
- Completion of Ascension Core Competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (updated every 3 years)
- Completion of specialty skills checklist and specialty exam demonstrating competency (updated annually and every 3 years respectively)
- Criminal background check and EPLS screening within 90 days of start, updated annually or after breaks in service
- Drug screening (12 panel) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually or after breaks in service
- Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start, updated after breaks in service
- Health and immunization requirements including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations)
- Varicella (two vaccines, immunity evidence, or history; no declinations)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations)
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be completed onsite)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA testing, chest X-ray if positive, and annual TB questionnaire
- Ascension badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
- Valid driver's license or state ID matching address requirements
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccine is optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing is required
- Floating to multiple sites within a 40-mile radius may be required based on department needs
