Description
Registered Nurse (Women's Center - Labor & Delivery / Mother-Baby / Postpartum)
Location: Princeton, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7p-7a)
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
Call Requirement: 3-4 call shifts in a 6-week schedule; must be available and able to report within 30 minutes if on call
Unit Details
- Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Mother-Baby
- Beds: 12 L&D beds, 4 Postpartum beds, 1 triage bed
- Operating Rooms: 1 OR suite
- Births: 80-100 births per year
- Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- OB techs available; no in-house OB/Neonatologist 24/7
- Respiratory equipment available: CPAP, BiPAP, Ventilator
- Telemetry available; RNs read fetal monitoring strips
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring system: GE Centricity
- Scrubs provided on site
- Unit-specific orientation provided
Required Certifications & Skills
- Basic Fetal Monitoring certification required
- BLS Certification required
- Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines
- Experience in Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum care
- Ability to titrate drips (Oxytocin, Insulin, Epidural)
- Ability to circulate and recover Cesarean sections preferred
Patient Population / Common Diagnoses
- Gestational Hypertension
- Gestational Diabetes
- Preeclampsia
Additional Information
- Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver’s license with application
- Any licensing issues must be disclosed at time of submission
- No floating requirements
- Charge nurse/house supervisor role available on unit
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license valid in West Virginia
- Basic Fetal Monitoring certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum years of experience: 17 years in Women's Center / L&D / Mother-Baby / Postpartum specialty (as indicated by specialty code)
