Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a regional health center serving a diverse patient population including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The unit handles approximately 30-35 cases and uses Meditech as the electronic health record system.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 40 guaranteed
- Call Requirements: Self-scheduling; typically 1 weekday per week and 1 weekend every 3-4 weeks
- Minimal floating required (occasional float to linen services or med/surg as a sitter after training)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Experience with C-Section patients
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Unit and Patient Information
- Unit: 2nd floor, PACU
- Patient Population: Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
- Patient Volume: 30-35 cases per shift
- EHR System: Meditech
