Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry
Location

Work Schedule
- Day and night shifts available
- 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Weekend hours: 36 hours (typically Fri, Sat, Sun)
- No call requirements
Unit Information
- Unit: Medical Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC)
- Number of beds: 43
- Patient ratios:
- Med/Surg Day Shift: 1:4-5
- Med/Surg Night Shift: 1:5-6
- IMC Day and Night: 1:3
- Patient types include respiratory, medical telemetry, surgical, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and various acute on chronic medical conditions
- Equipment used: ventilators, BiPaP, CPAP, nasal cannula, non-rebreather masks, epidural pumps, IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, tracheostomy care and maintenance
- Electronic Medical Record system: Epic
Job Responsibilities
- Float requirements:
- IMC RNs may float to other IMC units or med/surg units as needed
- Med/Surg RNs may float to other med/surg units with similar level of care
- Must be able to interpret telemetry strips and provide care for patients with tracheostomies
- IMC RNs must have experience with ventilators
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with ventilators
- Experience with tracheostomy care and maintenance
