Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse
Location: Owings Mills, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Description
- Immediate start available
- Coverage area: Baltimore County
- Schedule options (all 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM):
- Friday to Tuesday
- Saturday to Wednesday
- Thursday to Monday
- Expected productivity: 30 points per week
- Possible on-call requirement (contractors may be asked to sign up if needed)
- Weekend work may be required but typically contractors work Monday through Friday
- Patient population: Geriatric patients
- Expected daily visit volume: Approximately 6 visits per day
- Local candidates are acceptable
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Home Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in a Home Care setting
- Experience with OASIS documentation
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Shift Details
- Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (40 hours/week)
- Shift hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
- Proof of E-Verify or attestation required
- Background check: 7-year criminal history including SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender registry, motor vehicle, and FACIS Level 3
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
- Education verification upon client request
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Auto insurance documentation required
- Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
- N95 fit test within 1 year of start, updated annually (can be done onsite)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually (special provisions for past positives and recent COVID vaccination)
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Seasonal influenza vaccination or documented declination required if requested by client (flu season October 1 – March 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (facility-specific exemption form must be submitted for approval)
References and Evaluations
- Two professional references required within 2 years for travel positions
- Performance evaluations required if employed over 1 year with the agency
- Internal evaluations required if employed over 2 years
Additional Notes
- Candidates may be asked to sign up for on-call shifts if needed
- Weekend work is generally not required but may be requested occasionally

This position is ideal for experienced home health RNs comfortable with geriatric patient care, OASIS documentation, and working independently in the community setting.
