Description
Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Unit and Work Details
- Unit: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
- Shift Options: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends
- Call Requirements: None
- Floating: Required to float to other units as needed
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Attendance: Must badge in/out each shift; 30-minute lunch break required
- Punctuality: Clock-in time is 6:38 AM/PM; arriving after 6:45 is considered tardy
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Medical ICU (MICU) and Medical-Surgical ICU (MSICU)
- Exposure to Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- Exposure to Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Experience with Meditech electronic documentation system
Procedures Commonly Performed
- Chest tubes, tracheostomies, GI scopes
- Intubations, central lines, arterial lines
- Nasogastric (NG) tubes, Foley catheters, dressing changes
Dress Code and Appearance
- Scrubs: Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
- Nails: Clean and healthy
- Hair: Neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors
- Facial Hair: Must be clean and neatly trimmed
- Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions handled individually
- Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; all other visible piercings prohibited

- No call requirements
- Floating policy applies; candidates will be informed during interview
- Must adhere to unit attendance and punctuality policies
