Registered Nurse (Acute Care MedSurg) - Georgia

Job Details

• Location: Albany, Georgia
• Contract Length: 17 weeks
• Unit Size: 44 beds, 40 staff
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As needed
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• Nurse Aides: CNAs available, ratio generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
• Floating: Required to float to all acute care and cardiology units, including emergency care for acute care patient holds
• Orientation:

  • General orientation: 1 week (includes EMR training)
  • Floor-specific orientation: 2 days
• EMR System: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
• Uniform Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
• Telemetry: Yes, but monitored on a different unit

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care MedSurg specialty
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification required (AHA)
• Must live within a strict 75-mile radius from the address on the traveler's driver’s license to the hospital (address verification required)
