Cath Lab Tech Travel Opportunity - California, Salinas
Job Summary
- Perform technical procedures involving ionizing radiation in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
- Assist with diagnostic fluoroscopic angiographic procedures, coronary and peripheral interventions, and electrophysiology procedures.
- Prepare and monitor patients before and after cardiac procedures; report any changes in patient condition.
- Maintain and assist with preventative maintenance of Cath Lab equipment; report malfunctions.
- Manage supplies and assist the Cath Lab team by performing various responsibilities as needed.
- Initiate CPR and use emergency equipment as necessary.
- Follow sterile technique and safety procedures.
- Operate equipment according to procedural protocols and assist physicians during procedures.
- Handle contrast media appropriately.
- Provide age-appropriate patient care.
Contract Length
- 10 weeks
Shift Details
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts
- Some on-call required
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- Experience as an Electrophysiology Technician.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Education
- Graduation from a Radiologic Technology program or a Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) program.
Certifications & Licensure
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California.
- Fluoroscopy certification.
- One of the following credentials: ARRT (CI), RCIS, RCES, or CEPS.
- BLS certification.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, diagnostic fluoroscopic angiographic procedures, coronary and peripheral interventions.
- Patient care and monitoring skills.
- Equipment maintenance and supply management.
- Proficiency in sterile technique and CPR.
- Ability to operate Cath Lab equipment and assist physicians.
- Contrast media handling.
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system.
Additional Information
- Works under supervision of Assistant Director Cardiology.
- Must demonstrate independent judgment and initiative.
- Must adhere to hospital safety standards and report unsafe conditions immediately.
