Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (12-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36
Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays required
Job Summary
Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction, including education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with intubation and ventilator setup/management
- Evaluating patient needs and providing disease-specific education
- Collaborating with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members
- Documenting patient education clearly
- Floating to adult ICU, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floors as needed
- Adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior
- Physical requirements: lift, push, and pull minimum 5 lbs; stand at least 1 hour daily
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
- Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
