Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (12-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays required

Job Summary

Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction, including education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with intubation and managing ventilators
• Evaluating patient needs and providing disease-specific education
• Collaborating with healthcare team members and patients/caregivers to support care goals
• Documenting patient education clearly
• Floating to adult ICU, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floors as needed
• Adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior
• Physical requirements: lift, push, and pull a minimum of 5 lbs; stand at least 1 hour per day

Required Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• Previous experience with ventilators required
