Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (12-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 33 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
- Perform intubation assistance, ventilator setup, and management.
- Evaluate patient needs including disease education, testing, and consultations with healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and caregivers based on identified needs.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Physical requirements include lifting, pushing, pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing at least 1 hour per day.
- Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including 1 year of ICU experience
- Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Information
- Must have a strong sense of accountability and patient focus.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
- Exceptional teamwork skills required.
- Every other weekend and holidays required.
Hours & Schedule
- 36 hours per week, working 3 shifts of 12 hours each.
