Registered Nurse (RN) – Renal Medical-Surgical Unit (Night Shift)
Location: Zanesville, Ohio
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Overview
- Provide nursing care on a 21-bed Renal Medical-Surgical unit specializing in acute and chronic kidney disease, post-dialysis care, and complex medical-surgical conditions.
- Manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry continuously.
- Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Float as needed within scope to similar Med-Surg units including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and Emergency Department boarders.
- Work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with high patient turnover.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Minimum of 3 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Additional Information
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
- No on-call requirement.
- Must demonstrate adaptability, efficiency, and strong critical thinking in a high-volume setting.
- Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours during the contract period.
- All requested time off must be disclosed at submission and included in the confirmation to be honored.
- Start date for new travelers is July 20th unless returning within 9 months.
Summary
This role is ideal for an experienced RN with strong Medical-Surgical and Telemetry skills, comfortable managing renal patients and telemetry monitoring in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Epic EMR proficiency and the ability to pass a Day 1 competency test are critical.
