Registered Nurse (Endo/GI) - Nebraska

Location

• Kearney, Nebraska
• Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and cannot be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with the same health system.
• Driver’s license required at submission to verify distance.

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days only
• Hours: 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
• Scheduling options: 5/8, 4/10, or 3/12 shifts available
• Call requirement: 10 days per six-week schedule
• Hours are per contract and not guaranteed.

Unit & Patient Care

• Specialty: Endoscopy/Gastroenterology (Endo/GI)
• Staff ratio: 1:1
• Prep-op duties required for Endo patients only
• Sedation is not performed by nurses; anesthesia handles all sedation
• Bronchoscopies performed rarely but may be required
• ERCP procedures are performed
• Tech duties only if competent and comfortable; primary role is RN care
• No pediatric recovery responsibilities.

Required Certifications & Policies

• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• RN must pass a 90% or higher on an open book skills exam during orientation (exam is pass/fail).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license for Nebraska
• Experience in Endo/GI nursing preferred (years of experience not explicitly stated)
• Must meet radius and employment restrictions as noted.
