Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: Rotate with permanent staff

Unit and Patient Care

• Unit Type: ICU/CCU with 10 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Common Diagnoses: Sepsis, Pneumonia, COPD, CHF, Pulmonary Embolism
• Patient Acuity: Lower ICU level, similar to stepdown; occasional pediatric surgical patients (e.g., pediatric cholecystectomy)
• No interventional cath lab patients (no cath lab on site)
• Floating: May float to ER if qualified and credentialed; no mandatory floating out of unit

Clinical Environment

• EMR System: Meditech (upgraded mouse-driven version)
• Telemetry: Nurses monitor and interpret their own telemetry using Phillips monitors
• Ventilators: Draeger brand, managed by Respiratory Therapists (RTs)
• Drips Commonly Used: Levophed, Diprivan, Epinephrine, Cardizem, Dopamine
• Hospitalist coverage: In-house 24/7 (covers entire hospital)
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
• IV Team: Available Monday through Friday for difficult sticks and midlines
• Pharmacy: In-house during daytime; after hours support via Omnicell or main pharmacist until midnight

Orientation and Staffing

• Floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts
• Charge Nurse: Yes, charge nurse also takes patients
• Nurse Aides: Not available on unit
• Uniform: Hunter green pants with white tops/jackets or solid white

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Georgia RN license or eNLC Compact Multistate RN License
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU specialty experience required
• Travel Experience: Not specified as required

• Nurses responsible for telemetry monitoring and interpretation
