Description

Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (12 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in an adult and pediatric burn trauma surgical ICU.
  • Primary RN Care model with nursing ratios:
    • 1:2 for critical care patients.
    • 1:1 for burn trauma code 1 admissions, high acuity, and post-operative patients.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Invasive hemodynamic monitoring (at least every 1 hour).
    • IV drip titration.
    • Nurse-driven burn fluid resuscitation following the Parkland formula.
    • Ventilator management.
    • Continuous venovenous hemofiltration (CVVH).
    • Hourly pulse and flap Doppler checks.
    • Initial debridement and dressing changes.
    • Conscious sedation.
    • Surgical recovery care.
    • Epidural pump management.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Indiana.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Burn ICU experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
