Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:15 AM - 6:45 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description
- Work in an acute care community hospital setting (approx. 300 beds) including ER, adult med/surg, and adult critical care units.
- Responsibilities include:
- Nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy (CPT), high flow oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation (NIV), cough assist, and intrapulmonary percussive ventilation (IPV).
- Assisting with intubations and bronchoscopies.
- Mechanical ventilation management and in-house transport of mechanically ventilated patients.
- Pediatric ER and pediatric care only if competency is demonstrated.
- Continuous albuterol administration.
- Patient age group served: Infants through geriatrics (neonates preferred, but not used in level 3 NICU).
- Work setting experience required: Trauma, community hospital, ER, adult ICU.
- Preferred experience: Level I trauma center, teaching hospital, PICU, and acute care pediatric experience.
- Epic electronic charting experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in New Hampshire
- Minimum 1 year of recent Respiratory Care Practitioner experience
- BLS certification
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system
Schedule & Work Requirements
- Every other weekend required.
- No on-call duties.
- 36 hours per week accepted (3x12 hour shifts).
Travel Experience
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Prior travel experience is not required.
Important Notes
- Travelers who have ever been employed by the associated health system are not eligible, regardless of length of separation or duration of employment.
- Reduced rates apply for local travelers.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including:
- Social Security verification
- National sex offender registry search
- National criminal search
- FACIS Level 3
- Education verification
- Criminal county and state searches (excluding NH counties; NH state police search required instead)
- Motor vehicle background check if driving to patient homes (with specific criteria)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks must be run within 30 days prior to start.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start (no exceptions).
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start.
- Annual fit mask test required (N95 or equivalent).
- Respiratory Safety Clearance questionnaire required prior to start.
- Two current professional references within the last 3 years, including one from a supervisor.
- Employment application and skills checklist required.
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG testing may be required depending on unit assignment.
- Pass/fail dysrhythmia testing required for certain units (details provided during onboarding).
Immunization & Health Requirements
- Tdap vaccine administered after age 19 and within the last 10 years required (titers not accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year prior to start (2-step PPD, Qgold, or Tspot accepted).
- Immunity or vaccination documentation required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations accepted with waiver)
- Varicella (history of disease not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required annually between October 31 and April 1.
- Medical or religious exemptions allowed with proper documentation and approval.
- Hepatitis B waiver required if declining vaccine.
- Facility-specific religious and medical exemption forms required for flu and Tdap vaccines if applicable.
Documentation & Facility Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo (JPEG) for badge.
- Copy of professional license (for states without paperless licensing).
- Proof of auto insurance required if driving to patient homes.
- Compliance attestation must be completed prior to clearance.
- Background and health documents must be uploaded with appropriate expiration dates to avoid expiration alerts.
