Description
Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry
Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period
Call Requirements: None scheduled; possible shift flex to on-call up to twice during contract
Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Unit & Patient Information
- 40 beds
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Patient population: adult and geriatric
- Patient types: total joint replacement, surgical patients, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute on chronic conditions (CHF, CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB)
- Equipment used: Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinet, Zoll defibrillators
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Medhost
- Floating: Expected to float to other units including Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel nursing assignment
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Acute care experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Preceptor experience
- Charge nurse experience
Work Environment & Culture
- Joint Commission accredited community hospital and regional referral center
- Level III Trauma center
- No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts may be considered but not guaranteed
- Dress code: black scrubs (top and bottom), no open shoes
- Personality fit: compassionate, positive, can-do attitude
