Job Description
- Outpatient Mammography Technician
- Staff are cross-utilized; mammographers provide X-ray coverage during X-ray technologist lunch breaks
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Total hours per week: 40
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT Mammography (ARRT M) certification
- ARRT Radiography (ARRT R) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC only)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and international search if applicable
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS, GSA, SAM, HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law)
- Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps; employment verification required for up to 7 years
- Two professional references required (within 3 years) for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates
Certifications and Verifications
- State professional license copy and primary source verification within 30 days of start
- National technician certification verification required within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work)
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests)
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination per protocol
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series (declination allowed with signed form)
- Varicella immunity or vaccination per protocol
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually (not required for some non-clinical roles)
- Additional competency exams and certifications may be required as applicable
