Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry

Position Details

  • Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse
  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
  • Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Required to float within scope to similar units or sister facilities as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
  • Medical-Surgical / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Experience

  • First-time travel nurses accepted
  • Prior travel experience is NOT required

Schedule & Hours

  • 36 hours per week (3 shifts x 12 hours)
  • Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
  • Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed

Additional Requirements & Competencies

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
  • Color blindness testing required prior to start
  • Competency exams required (including for OR if applicable)
  • COVID vaccination is highly preferred; if declined, a vaccination declination form must be completed
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season or approved medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
  • Respirator medical clearance required annually for patient-facing staff
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
  • Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Physical exam required, updated annually
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tdap required
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers required

Orientation & Facility Specifics

  • Orientation modules (approx. 4-6 hours) must be completed prior to start; failure to complete results in being sent home
  • Facility-specific first day instructions will be provided after clearance
  • Badge photo required prior to start (passport-style, business casual attire, no hats or sunglasses)
  • Radiation badge required if assigned to certain units (e.g., Cath Lab, OR, Radiology); process may take 5-7 days
  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis

  • Hurricane season (June–November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; avoid confirming new or extension contracts during peak months (August–September) if this is a concern
  • Facility allows floating between like units to meet staffing needs
  • Local radius: 60 miles
