Registered Nurse - CVOR (York, Pennsylvania)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Open heart experience required
- Scrub experience required
- EPIC experience required
- Schedule includes alternating days off
- On-call 1-2 days per week with 30-minute response time
- Weekend coverage every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 6:00 AM)
- Holiday work as needed (at least 1 major holiday expected)
- Floating as needed
- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience with EPIC system
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days
- Pre-screening by clinical team and manager interview required
- 2 professional references within last 3 years
- Most recent resume or employment application required
- Annual skills checklist required
Background Checks and Verifications
- 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start, must be finalized prior to start
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance required, results must be on file within first 45 days of assignment
- FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start, results must be on file within first 45 days (candidate may start with results pending)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required
- NURSYS verification for RN license required
- Attestation documents including I9 and E-Verify required
Certifications and Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required within 48 hours of contract signing (except OR and Home Health)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 72 hours of contract signing (except OR and Home Health)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted
- Fit test for N95 mask within 12 months of start, updated annually
- Required vaccinations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles) – 2 doses or positive titer
- Mumps – 2 doses or positive titer
- Rubella – 2 doses or positive titer
- Hepatitis B – positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) or declination with exemption form
- Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination
- Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start (for agency only, not required by facility)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo for badge (clear, professional, light background)
- Review and sign facility documents including:
- Commitment to Health & Wellness
- Code of Conduct
- Confidentiality Agreement
- Non-Employee Affidavit
- Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start (not on cell phones)
- New hire orientation required by end of first day
Additional Notes
- Candidate must notify if tobacco or fragrance use conflicts with facility policy
- Candidate must complete all required documentation and certifications by due dates to maintain assignment eligibility
- Facility may require working holidays and weekend shifts as part of the schedule
This position is ideal for experienced CVOR Registered Nurses with strong EPIC skills and the ability to meet rigorous compliance and health requirements in a fast-paced surgical environment.
