Description
Surgical Tech – CVOR
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Days
Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Job Overview
- Work primarily in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) with exposure to General OR.
- Average of 30 cases per day across 16 suites.
- Common case types include: Hearts, Vascular, Thoracic, General, Neuro, Spine, Robotics, Orthopedics.
- Orientation includes CVOR and General OR training.
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available.
Call and Scheduling Requirements
- One weekday call per month.
- One weekend call (Friday-Sunday) per month.
- Call response time: 30 minutes; call room available at facility.
- Holiday call requirements depend on contract.
- Floating required to General OR; may float within nearby zones if needed.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
- Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) certification.
- Experience with open heart and endovascular procedures is required.
Additional Information
- Must be within 60 miles radius; driver’s license must be submitted.
- Clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if some modules are remote.
- Scrubs are provided.
