Description
Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Houston, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Cardiac Cath Lab with 2 procedure rooms
- Staff: 9 total (RNs and Cath Lab Techs)
- Day Shift: 1 supervisor, 4 RNs, 2 Cath Lab Techs
- Night Shift: On-call staff only (2 RNs and 1 Cath Lab Tech or 1 RN and 2 Cath Lab Techs)
- Patient Ratios: 3 team members per 1 patient procedure
- Equipment: Phillips and Siemens Fluoroscopy equipment
- EMR Systems: MERGE Hemo (Cath Lab documentation) and Meditech
Typical Procedures
- Left and right heart catheterizations
- Pacemaker/ICD and Watchman device procedures
- Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures
- Vascular procedures
- Electrophysiology (EP) Ablations
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Registered Nurse License (RN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in Cardiac Cath Lab or related specialty
Work Schedule and Expectations
- 36 hours per week
- One full weekend plus 2 weekdays per four-week schedule (total 10 shifts)
- Floating to Pre/Post Cath Department as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrophysiology experience is highly preferred

- Follow procedural guidelines including universal precautions, timeout procedures, and moderated sedation guidelines
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience as an RN, with experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
