Radiation Therapist - Oregon, Grants Pass
Job Details
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
- Work Setting: Outpatient Radiation Oncology clinic
- Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs; no open-toed shoes; employer-branded T-shirt or scrub top allowed
- Team Structure: Two therapists work together on each treatment machine; therapists do not work alone
- Floating: No floating; dedicated to Radiation Oncology department only
- Orientation: 3-5 days of shadowing and training with experienced Radiation Therapists to get up to speed
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver external beam radiation therapy patient treatments using Varian TrueBeam and Elekta Infinity treatment machines
- Perform CT scans (full-time Radiation Therapists only; locum therapists focus on patient treatments)
- Use Mosaiq record and verify system for treatment documentation
- Follow general Radiation Oncology Therapist duties related to patient treatment delivery
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in external beam radiation therapy patient treatment delivery, specifically with TrueBeam machine
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
- Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) licensure
Additional Information
- Weekends are generally not required unless there is an unusual circumstance such as machine downtime during the week requiring patient treatment on weekends (rare and on doctor’s call)
