• Day shift
• Approximately 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• On call availability required (6:45 AM - 5:15 PM)

Job Description

• Functions as an integral part of the perioperative team under RN supervision during the intraoperative period.
• Maintains a sterile environment by applying principles of asepsis.
• Demonstrates competency in technical and psychomotor skills relevant to surgical procedures.
• Provides age-specific care to obstetrical patients following department policies.
• Assists with organization and coordination of supplies and equipment to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintains safety for patients, coworkers, and self, adhering to safety and legal requirements.
• Participates in room turnover, setup, and equipment sterilization, disinfection, and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology
  OR
• Certificate of completion of a Surgical Technology program

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience within the last year

Certifications and Licensure

• Valid Surgical Technologist license in Illinois
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
