    Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

    Location

    • Seattle, Washington

    Contract Length

    • 13 weeks

    Position Details

    • Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
    • Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 - 07:00)
    • Hours per week: 48
    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Must work all scheduled shifts; no accommodations outside approved time off
    • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Washington
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
    • Respiratory Therapist experience within the last 12 months
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Experience working with adult patients
    • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
    • Critical care experience within the last 12 months

    Facility Highlights

    • Level I Trauma Center, Magnet recognized, Teaching hospital
    • Approximately 500 staffed beds
    • Charting system: Epic (with hard stops)
    • Scrub color: Any solid color; light blue scrubs provided on unit
    • Parking available onsite and offsite (details provided during onboarding)

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
    • Must run checks including nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 1, and WA Access to Criminal History (WATCH)
    • Education verification required if applicable
    • Primary source verification of Washington State license required
    • WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses must complete suicide prevention training and demographic attestation prior to start
    • Drug screening within past 12 months required (Aya requirement, not facility)
    • Physical exam within 1 year recommended (not required by facility)
    • Mask fit test within 12 months required (specific mask models)
    • Various immunizations and titers required or declination forms accepted:
      • Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines)
      • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination)
      • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines)
      • Annual flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
      • COVID vaccination or declination (for tracking purposes)
    • TB testing: Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD within 90 days of start; annual TB questionnaire required
    • Additional vaccine requirements for specific roles (e.g., Meningococcal for Microbiology techs)

    Certifications & Competencies

    • BLS (AHA)
    • ACLS preferred but not required for this position
    • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC) not required but may be relevant for other units
    • Medication and competency exams required as per facility standards
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required prior to start for ICU and related units (pass/fail, 80% passing score)

    Orientation & Onboarding

    • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules required before start
    • Orientation testing is pass/fail with an 80% passing score
    • Badge photo required (professional, waist-up, clear lighting, simple background)
    • Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be signed prior to or at orientation

    References & Evaluations

    • Two professional references required
    • Performance evaluations may be completed by facility managers after assignment completion

    This position is ideal for experienced respiratory therapists with recent critical care and trauma experience seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity, Level I trauma center environment. Pediatric experience is a plus but not mandatory.
