ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Opportunity

Location: Show Low, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts, 1800-0630)
Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts guaranteed)

Job Overview

• Work in a 12-bed ICU unit with typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Common patient cases include pneumonia, ventilated patients, post-cardiac catheterization, STEMIs, ARDS, DKA, CVA after tPA, sepsis, renal failure, and more
• Equipment used includes GE floor-mounted C-Arm and Table, Volcano System, Cardiology Hemodynamics System, and IABP devices (IABP skill not required)
• No open heart or neuro surgeries; no fresh transplants (patients with history of transplant possible)
• Respiratory Therapist available 24/7 on unit
• Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians and Health Unit Secretaries
• Nurse manager may occasionally assist with patient care
• Floating may be required to Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical units if experienced

Required Qualifications

• Active Arizona RN license or compact license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Experience with basic ICU equipment and common ICU drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Levophed, Precedex, Fentanyl, Vecuronium, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Insulin, Heparin (weight-based), and Norepinephrine

Scheduling & Work Environment

• Modified self-scheduling with flexibility to block schedule shifts
• Minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (flexible coverage as long as shifts are covered)
• Scrubs of any color allowed
• House Supervisor available 24/7 on site
• Orientation starts every Monday
• No holiday or on-call requirements listed

Additional Information

• Start date: ASAP
• Candidates with clean credential files and all required certifications will be prioritized for interviews
• Extensions of contract typically approved with 3-4 weeks’ notice
• Manager response time to candidates is moderate (scale 3 out of 5)
