Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital
Location: Walla Walla, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
- Patient Load: 8-9 patients per day
- Unit Floating: Yes, position may float between units
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, 1 weekend every 4 weeks
- On-Call: No
- Block Schedules: Not required
- Charting System: Epic

Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Inpatient Rehab experience
Certifications (as applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification (if applicable)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) (if applicable)
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (if applicable)
- IV Certification (if applicable)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
Note: Certification requirements should be verified based on clinical track or unit requirements.
Required Documents & Background Checks
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, updated annually
- Education verification (degree/diploma/transcript as applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- State-specific searches as required by Washington state law
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
- Fit mask testing (annual, travel only)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations or titers for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or signed declination)
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccination documentation preferred (declinations accepted)
- Respiratory safety clearance (annual for travel candidates)
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Compliance with float policy acknowledging possible assignment to other nearby facilities
