Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 4 shifts of 10 hours each (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
  • Additional Hours: One Saturday shift (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) during the 13-week period
  • Weekend Call: Assigned 1-2 times per 13-week assignment (Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 7:30 AM)
  • Backup Coverage: May be assigned backup duty once a week due to procedural nature of work
  • Daily Caseload: 6-8 procedures per technologist
  • Rooms: 9 procedural rooms
  • Floating: Floating within facility and scope of care is required; no floating to sister facilities
  • Local Radius Rule: Candidates must be located more than 75 miles away (no locals accepted)
  • Pending State License: Accepted
  • Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days
  • Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Job Description

Perform interventional radiology procedures including but not limited to:

  • Central venous catheter placements/replacements
  • Diagnostic angiograms
  • Y-90 mappings/treatments
  • Gastrostomy tubes
  • Percutaneous nephrostomy tubes
  • Peripheral artery disease leg cases
  • Other vascular-related procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • ARRT Radiography (R) certification required
  • Experience with contrast media required

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued ID required
  • Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
  • Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification of highest relevant degree required
  • Primary source verification of professional license required (NURSYS for Missouri licenses)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel
  • Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
    • Tdap vaccine or declination required
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination required
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene and dress code policies, and regulatory compliance education must be completed and updated annually
  • Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
  • Competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology, unit-specific, dysrhythmia/EKG if applicable)
  • Orientation modules completion required for RNs and LVNs (not required for allied health professionals)
