Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Position

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an Occupational Therapist with hospital and inpatient rehab experience to join a 44-bed rehab unit. The unit features a patient ratio of 4:1 and includes 10 OT/PT teams, 3 speech therapists, and 1 tech.

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit: Rehab Therapy
• Equipment: Sara Lifts, Ceiling Lifts, Bioness, Diego
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7 AM and 5 PM; rotating weekends
• Floating Policy: May float to acute hospital if rehab census is low
• Patient Experience: Use of AIDET communication and immediate service recovery
• Certifications: Joint Commission Stroke Certification

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS Certification
• OTR Certification
• Joint Commission Stroke Certification
• De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Skills & Procedures

• Manual therapy for neuro re-education
• Therapeutic exercise
• Functional activity training
• Neuromuscular re-education
• Self-care training
• Functional electrical stimulation (e-stim)

Dress Code

• Black scrub bottoms and royal blue top preferred
