Description
Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Rehab (Travel/Contract)
Location: Crescent City, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Sunday - Thursday, Day shift (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week (5x8 hour shifts)
Job Summary
- Provide occupational therapy services in inpatient care and occasional acute rehab settings.
- Float between Acute Rehab Unit (ARU) and inpatient acute care.
- Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs to restore vocational, homemaking, daily living skills, and general independence for patients with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Gain patient and family cooperation through competent assessment, monitoring, care, and communication.
- Provide clinical supervision to assistants and aides; serve as clinical instructor for assigned students.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct occupational therapy programs for patients impaired by illness, injury, or developmental problems.
- Complete and document patient evaluations, tests, and treatment plans per regulatory standards.
- Develop and update patient Plans of Care based on assessments and diagnoses.
- Coordinate patient care with other healthcare providers and support team members.
- Complete all required documentation related to therapy and charge capture.
- Participate in quality improvement and interdisciplinary projects.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and properly clean/disinfect equipment.
- Inspect and use equipment according to manufacturer guidelines, reporting malfunctions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Retain certifications and complete mandated continuing education to meet licensure and accreditation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
