Occupational Therapist - Outpatient

Location: Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Job Summary

Plan and conduct individualized occupational therapy programs to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach patients skills, techniques, and use of adaptive equipment to participate in activities
• Evaluate and document patients' activities and progress
• Perform a variety of occupational therapy tasks with creativity and judgment
• Meet age-specific needs of assigned unit
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Float to cover all hospital areas as needed

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a nationally accredited occupational therapy program
• Current Occupational Therapy License in Idaho
• Acute care experience required
• Outpatient and neuro adult experience required
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Effective communication skills and flexibility

Preferred:

• Critical care experience

Working Conditions & Equipment

• Standing and/or sitting for extended periods
• Use of clinical equipment including EPIC, gait belts, assistive and lift devices, and adaptive equipment
• Caseload typically 10-12 patients, with total therapy caseload around 140

Unit-specific orientation provided with staff for each unit or similar units
