Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - CCU

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights, 7 PM – 7 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the age and needs of the patient population on the assigned unit. Ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.


Responsibilities

  • Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
  • Systematically reassess patients to monitor progress and identify when interventions are needed.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care within established nursing standards.
  • Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans based on patient outcomes.
  • Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
  • Perform and document timely interventions and Point of Care testing procedures.
  • Delegate and coordinate unit work assignments to ensure completion of patient care support activities.
  • Participate in orientation of new staff and students; serve as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff.
  • Promote a positive work environment and collaborate to achieve unit and organizational goals.
  • Exhibit behaviors that foster patient/customer satisfaction, respect for rights and confidentiality, and teamwork.
  • Adapt to changes in work environment or schedule with flexibility and maintain a positive attitude under stress.
  • Comply with all policies related to patient and environmental safety, attendance, and professional conduct.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current TNCC certification

Additional Information

  • Floating to other units or locations may be required.
  • Full-time position.

This position offers an opportunity to work night shifts in a critical care setting with a focus on quality patient care and professional growth.
