Description
Registered Nurse - Digestive Disease
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the age and needs of the patient population on assigned units. Ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism and respect toward staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Work Schedule
- 5 days per week
- 8-hour shifts (7 AM - 3:30 PM, start and end times may vary)
- Rotating shifts totaling 40 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
- Systematically re-assess patients to monitor progress and identify interventions
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care within nursing standards
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans as needed
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning
- Perform Point of Care testing procedures and document timely interventions
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Gastroenterology within the last year
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Additional Information
- This is a backfill/replacement travel assignment
- New nurses with 2 or fewer years of experience will be hired at Clinical Nurse I status; higher levels considered based on experience, certifications, or advanced education (BSN/MSN)
