Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Location: Marshall, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide professional nursing care focused on patient comfort and well-being using critical thinking and independent judgment.
• Utilize all phases of the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Direct and supervise the nursing patient care team, including CNAs, LPNs, and other techs.
• Collaborate with the nursing team and other disciplines to provide comprehensive care.
• Document patient care, condition, reactions, and responses to treatment promptly and track patient progress.

Work Environment

• Birth Center with 11 LDRP rooms, 3 triage rooms, and 1 OR.
• RN to patient ratio:

  • 1:1 for active labor, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin induction of labor
  • 1:3 for couplets
  • 1:2 for early labor patients
• Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred; willingness to obtain if not currently certified.
