Job Description
- Assist in preparing for and during surgery by performing routine and delegated duties according to department and hospital standards to ensure quality patient care.
- Strong skills required in Neuro, Spine, and Orthopedic surgical cases.
- Experience with Neuro, Spine, Orthopedics, and DaVinci surgical systems is required.
- Occasional float to other campuses may be required.
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM), including weekends in rotation.
- On-call duties required.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NBSTSA certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of Certified Surgical Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable.
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
- EPLS, GSA, SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List searches required as applicable.
- Education verification required unless highest education is high school.
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law).
- Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps; employment verification required for up to 7 years.
- References: 2 professional references required within 3 years for clinical positions.
Certifications and Competencies
- BLS (AHA or ARC).
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications as applicable by position (verify with recruiter).
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams and unit-specific competency exams may be required.
- Pass/fail EKG exam required onsite for ICU RNs at certain locations.
- Venipuncture/IV certification may be required depending on role.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work.
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
- TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually; negative TB test or chest x-ray required.
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination.
- Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam required).
- Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually.
Facility Specific Requirements
- Candidate must review and sign facility policies including dress code, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, overpayment refund policy, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
- Conditional offer of employment attestation must be completed prior to start.
- Religious exemption forms required for facial hair (PAPR) and certain vaccine exemptions; approvals handled on a case-by-case basis.

- Must be willing to float occasionally to other campuses.
- On-call availability required.
- Work schedule includes weekends in rotation.
