Echo Tech Position - Grand Junction, Colorado

Job Summary

Perform diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams under physician direction to identify abnormalities for patient diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct various ultrasound procedures using high-frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels.
• Prepare exam rooms, obtain informed consent, and collect accurate clinical histories.
• Review patient history to select appropriate exam protocols; explain procedures and position patients.
• Assess patient status, perform diagnostic tests, and necessary interventions.
• Review and evaluate completed tests for quality and completeness; ensure quality images.
• Coordinate preparation of images and documentation for physician review.
• Document and communicate patient information accurately; relay physician or caregiver instructions.
• Facilitate effective communication and handoffs between shifts to ensure patient safety and care continuity.
• Monitor equipment reliability and safety; report issues and maintain supplies and cleanliness.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Participate in quality initiatives related to patient satisfaction, care, and workflow.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance during scheduled shifts.

Work Schedule

• 40 hours per week, typically 5 days of 8-hour day shifts.
• Share on-call responsibilities for nights, weekends, and holidays with a required 30-minute response time.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, with experience within the last year.
• Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
• Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in Pediatric Echocardiography.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks.
