Description
Registered Nurse - Rapid Response
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 6 weeks
Hours per Week: 48
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Unit: Emergency Department (FSED) with possible floating to main ED
Job Description
- Provide rapid response nursing care in an Emergency Department setting.
- Perform procedures including IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube insertion, and assist providers with common ED procedures.
- Responsible for running point of care (POC) labs and setting up/adjusting respiratory equipment with remote support.
- Patient ratios vary between 1:4 and 1:6 depending on acuity.
- Use cardiac/vital sign monitors, CT, X-ray, and POC lab equipment.
- Documentation via Meditech system.
- Participate in patient experience protocols including AIDET, narration of care, and SBAR for department, admission, and transfer handoffs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Demonstrated rapid response competencies and experience in rapid response nursing
- Positive, flexible, team-oriented, and patient-centered attitude
Unit and Facility Highlights
- New facility with all new equipment.
- Level II trauma center, cardiac care, primary stroke center, burn center, and Level II NICU designations.
- Opportunity to develop skills with BiPAP, ventilator equipment, and point of care labs.
- Unit staffed with RNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries; PCTs scheduled mid-shift.
- Dress code: Royal Blue Scrubs.
