X-Ray Technician - Contract
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Operate radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Prepare patients for radiological procedures while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish rapport with patients to understand and meet service requirements, reducing anxiety through explanations and answering questions.
- Position patients and adjust equipment for radiological procedures.
- Apply radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Maintain quality and production standards of radiographs, including processing and adjustments.
- Document patient care and exam completion in records.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on radiology equipment.
- Manage radiology supplies inventory.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and participation in professional activities.
- Complete yearly Age Specific Competency assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technician license in New York
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technician, including experience within the last year
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Proven experience as an X-Ray Technician with competency in diagnostic procedures
