Description

Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer

Location: Smyrna, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (36 hours per week)


Job Description

  • Work in the Ultrasound unit with 24/7 coverage support from unit secretaries and techs.
  • Use three GE Logiq E9 XD Clear Ultrasound machines.
  • Documentation systems include Meditech (EMR) and FUJI Synapse (PACS).
  • Procedures performed include OB/GYN studies, vascular studies, abdominal studies, some pediatrics, and possibly thoracentesis/paracentesis.
  • Schedule requirements include Monday through Thursday, 9:00 PM – 6:30 AM shifts with no on-call duties.
  • No floating policy.
  • The unit has a very experienced team and uses advanced disinfection technology (Trophon probe cleaning systems).
  • The hospital is growing with increasing OB, ED, and surgical volumes.
  • The work environment is described as a true family-like atmosphere with strong teamwork and a great culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year.
  • Certification in ARRT(S) or ARDMS.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Demonstrated de-escalation skills in a healthcare setting.

  • Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs required.
  • The unit received the 2020 Clinical Site Excellence Award through affiliation with a community college ultrasound program.
  • Newer ultrasound machines purchased in 2017.
  • Excellent policies and practices around high-level disinfection.
