Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Pulaski, Tennessee
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Summary

• Travel RN position on a Medical/Surgical unit with a 19-bed capacity.
• Patient population primarily adults and geriatrics, with very few pediatric patients annually.
• Float requirements include medical detox, ICU, OB, and ER (task assignments for OB and ER). May take low-level Med/Surg overflow patients in ICU with a 1:3 ratio.
• Call requirements depend on census; staff may be placed on call or floated.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
• Weekend hours rotate every other weekend unless additional coverage is needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit uses Medhost EHR system.
• Equipment includes Welch Allyn vital machines, Masimo bedside monitors, Careview, telemetry, Sara Stedy, and ARJO lift.
• Patient ratio typically 1:5.
• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays.
• Dress code: Any scrub color allowed; print scrubs are not acceptable.
• Professional demeanor expected.

Additional Information

• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff.
• Unit secretary/monitor tech stationed at Med/Surg nurses station.
• Facility is a Joint Commission-accredited acute care hospital.

Shift & Scheduling

• Shift details not specified; 36 hours per week guaranteed.
• Weekend rotation every other weekend, with potential for more frequent weekend work if needed.
