Registered Nurse (OR) - Louisiana, Shreveport
Job Details
- Specialty: Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse
- Location: Shreveport, Louisiana
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days (06:00 - 14:30), Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8 hours per day, 36 hours per week
- Call Requirements:
- Weeknight: 1st call - 16 hours, 2nd call - 4 hours
- Weekend: Approximately 1 weekend every 8 weeks
- Holidays: Rotating call only
- Call response time: 30 minutes to 1 hour
- Floating: No floating required
- Orientation: 2 to 3 days unit/department specific orientation
Work Environment
- 8 OR suites with an average of 25 cases per day
- Common cases include:
- Makoplasty total joints (hips & knees)
- Shoulder, ankle, hand, podiatry surgeries
- ALIFs, ACDF, arthroscopies
- 360 fusions (Scoliosis), spinal cord tumors, microdiscectomies
- Sports medicine and pain management procedures
- Fast-paced facility with 15-minute turnover times (30 minutes for robotics)
- Team-oriented environment where everyone assists with turnover and cleaning
- Charge nurse acts as a board runner, making assignments and providing resources
- 1 RN and 1 tech assigned per room; implant representative present during cases
- EMR system: CPSI
- Hospital provides scrubs for OR staff
- 50-mile radius rule applies
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
- 1 year Orthopedics and Spine experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
