Registered Nurse - Stepdown Neuro
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- Unit: Neuro Progressive Care Unit (5th floor)
- Number of Beds: 20
- Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
- Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Stable post-stroke, stable neuro surgery patients, telemetry patients, medical patients
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1 nurse to 22 patients (0.045 ratio)
- Float Requirements: Medical, Telemetry, Neonatal units
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner
Job Details
- Specialty: Neuro Medical Strokes, Neuro-ortho surgeries, overflow telemetry and medical patients

- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU), including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Multi State Cert) (ABCP)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside at least 60 miles away from the facility to qualify as travel staff
- Orientation start dates are fixed and must be adhered to (dates available throughout June to December 2026)

- Unit Focus: Stepdown care for neurological patients requiring telemetry and medical management
- No call responsibilities
