Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Pulaski, Tennessee
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Summary

• Position in a 19-bed Medical/Surgical unit within an acute care facility.
• Patient population primarily adults and geriatrics, with very few pediatric patients annually.
• Float assignments include medical detox, ICU, OB, and ER (task assignments for OB and ER). May take low-level Med/Surg overflow patients in ICU with a 1:3 ratio.
• Call requirements depend on census; staff may be placed on call or floated.
• Weekend hours rotate every other weekend unless additional coverage is needed.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience in ICU (Intensive Care Unit).
• Experience in OB/GYN.
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED).

Work Environment & Equipment

• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients.
• Equipment includes Welch Allyn vital machines, Masimo bedside monitors, CareView, telemetry, Sara Stedy, and ARJO lift.
• Electronic Health Record system: Medhost.

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays.
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff.
• Professional demeanor expected.
• Dress code: Any scrub color allowed; print scrubs are not acceptable.

Start Date

• Must be available to start within 7-10 days from offer acceptance.
