Registered Nurse – Critical Care (Cleveland, Ohio)
Job Details

- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Health and Immunization Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine series or approved medical/religious exemption (preferred, not required).
- Positive MMR titers within the last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol.
- Positive Varicella titers within the last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol.
- Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with signed declination, or positive titer within 15 years.
- Annual 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results within last 6 months. If positive, clear chest X-ray (valid for 5 years) and current TB questionnaire required.
- Fit test for approved respirators completed within 1 year prior to start and updated annually.
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions.
- Influenza vaccine proof required during flu season (October–March) or completion of specific masking and declination forms if declined.
Background and Compliance
- Criminal background check within 6 months prior to start, including Social Security trace, county searches for last 7 years, national criminal sweep, and sex offender registry. International background check required if not living in the U.S. for past 5 years.
- Ohio fingerprinting and FBI background checks as applicable based on residency duration. Attestation allowed if fingerprints pending, with documentation.
- Employment verification for the last 5 years through third-party verification (no attestations).
- Education verification through third-party; international education requires equivalency documentation.
- U.S. work eligibility verification (I-9 attestation or completed I-9 on file).
- OIG exclusion check, SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC screening within 6 months prior to start.
- Drug screen within 60 days prior to start covering a 10-panel drug test; instant drug screens and attestations not accepted. New drug screen required if break in assignment exceeds 60 days.
- Non-expired photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
Skills and Competency
- Completion of a clinical skills checklist within 1 year prior to start (required once upon initial hire).
- Competency exam for relevant department with a minimum passing score of 80%, completed within 1 year prior to start.
- Completion of core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) with at least 80% passing score within 1 year prior to start.
- Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance; renewal annually.
